A STUDENT-LED ORGANIZATION THAT PLANS MORE THAN 16O EVENTS PER YEAR FOR FREE OR LITTLE COST TO THE K-STATE COMMUNITY.
The purpose of the Union Program Council shall be to provide educational, cultural and social experiences by students for students and the K-State community. The organization seeks to develop leaders and enhance the quality of student life through inclusive programming. With a goal of fulfilling the mission of the university, UPC aims to help establish an engaging campus life for students throughout their college experience. Through the prudent use of student privilege fees, UPC serves as a resource to entertain, excite and educate the university and community.
How WE're structured
Films selects blockbuster and classic films for the weekly series. Also sponsors The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Forums presents educational and informational programs on campus concerns through speakers, panels and discussions. Plans Constitution Day activities.
Multicultural exposes the campus to diversity through films, slam poets, entertainment, lectures and discussions.
Music programs live music from major concerts to coffee house performances. Also plans the OPUS Band Competition and K-State Voice.
Promotions promotes events, schedules social media, speaks with other campus groups and works on special projects.
After Hours organizes substance-free entertainment and activities every Friday night.
Arts coordinates the William T. Kemper Art Gallery exhibits, the Student Photography Contest, dinner theaters and other art-related programs.
Campus Entertainment focuses on researching, planning and executing a large event each semester according to the Campus Entertainment Fund process.
Community plans large, annual programs, including Union Expo & Activities Carnival, Children’s Carnival, Wildcat Winter Expo and Spring Egg Hunt.
Daytime Programs creates midday programs through make and take events, lunchtime lounges and magicians. Coordinates UPC Open House events.
